Never seen before footage of the making of Hunt: Showdown – developers tell all in how the game was made in the latest episode of ‘Their Story’.

The new episode delves into how the developers from Ryse & Crysis had to come together to form a new team, a new product and a new ‘Live Service’ mindset.

Hunt fans will be able to see some never seen before footage of the game from its pre-Alpha stage in 2017 to what it is today in Crytek’s brand new episode celebrating 25 years. The team talk about how they made Hunt a success and explored the gritty, dark yet beautiful atmosphere, with some designers still discovering new ways to engage with the compounds they created.

Designed with the community in mind, the development team reflects on the significant adjustments made to ideas and features based on player feedback, which ultimately shaped the game in unexpected ways. As Dennis Schwarz, Design Director for Hunt, aptly states, “The moment you release a live service game, it’s no longer your game."

The documentary also addresses the Crysis Remastered Trilogy and the challenges of enhancing a benchmark game across various platforms, including the Nintendo Switch.

Viewers will also discover other world-building initiatives, such as the Port Sulphur Band, its origins, and the transformation of the infamous “Hunt: Showdown hum” into "Rise Up Deadman," a track that has amassed over 42.5 million streams since!
