Today Crytek have announced the release of their latest update for the Early Access multiplayer bounty hunting game Hunt: Showdown. Among the many changes accompanying Update 6.1 are a number of long-standing community requests, including an FOV slider, audio improvements, boss improvements, changes to interactions with world items, and adjustments to how reviving a Hunter relates to burning damage.

Hunt: Showdown’s new FOV slider allows players to adjust the horizontal field of view from the default of 80 degrees to 110 degrees, using the Game Options tab. The starting animations for world items, including bear traps, lanterns, hammers, and axes, now begin more quickly, which means players can put those items into action all the faster. In addition, reviving another Hunter will now stop burning damage – assuming your Hunter isn’t lying in a fire zone.

“It may seem like a small thing, but changing the way burning damage works in combination with reviving another Hunter has been one of the community’s most-requested features for quite a while now. We originally planned to add this feature for 1.0, but were happy to be able to push it out even sooner than expected,” said Hunt Live Producer Loic Raimond.

But, of course, that isn’t all that was included in the update, and every Hunt: Showdown update contains tweaks, changes, and additions on multiple fronts. The Spectator Mode camera has gotten a lot of attention, and now when spectating, players can see the name, rank, and prestige of the spectatee on the lower right-hand side of the screen. Stats such as how many rifts that player has closed, will also be displayed – and players can expect more changes to come for Spectator Mode; this is just the beginning. The Assassin – Hunt: Showdown’s newest boss – received a few adjustments as well and now takes more fire damage, as well as having had bugs removed that caused it to get stuck in a wall or on the ceiling when killed.

About Hunt: Showdown

Hunt: Showdown is a competitive first-person bounty hunting game that packs the thrill of survival games into a match-based format. Set in Louisiana in 1895, the game boasts a mixture of PvP and PvE elements that creates a uniquely tense experience. It’s not just the creatures who are a threat—it’s every Hunter on the map. In the classic game mode, a match of Hunt pits ten players—playing solo or in teams of two—against each other as they race to take out gruesome beasts for a bounty they must collect and get off of the map, while Hunt’s Quick Play mode offers a shorter match for solo players to scavenge for weapons as they compete for a diminishing pool of bounty. The higher the risk, the higher the reward–but a single mistake could cost everything. Hunt is available now on Steam. For more information, visit
