Crytek’s VR sci-fi adventure Robinson: The Journey was awarded “Best Presentation” at the German Computer Game Awards (Deutscher Computerspielpreis) last night. The awards gala was held in Berlin Westhafen and moderated by Barbara Schöneberger, with an audience of over 700 guests from business, politics, culture, media, and the videogame industry.

The German Computer Game Award celebrates high-quality, innovative, and culturally important video games, and the winners are selected by a panel of experts. Of Robinson: The Journey, the jury had this to say: “Robinson: The Journey is a VR game with a very high level of technical and aesthetic development and with hours of play-time, intuitive controls, a flexible narrative structure, and high audio-visual quality.”

“We are experiencing a new level of quality in the German games industry,” German Federal Minister for Transport and Digital Infrastructure Alexander Dobrindt said of the year’s award candidates. “Our developers are important drivers of technological innovation.”

In Robinson: The Journey, players can experience the awe and wonder of coming face-to-face with dinosaurs while exploring an extrasolar planet, solving puzzles, and avoiding vicious predators. Developed exclusively for VR and powered by CRYENGINE, Robinson is a stunning visual journey in an immersive new medium.
