Crytek GmbH (Crytek) released its CryENGINE Free SDK 1.1 today which is available for download at its community portal crydev.net. Version 1.1 enables team collaboration for projects and offers a wealth of improvements for developers. At the same time Crydev.net received a major upgrade with a new projects database where teams can get together, create and showcase their work to the constantly growing community. In conjunction with updates to the CryENGINE®3 Sandbox™ Editor, the projects database will give teams the ability to organize, control and distribute their creations.

“The CryENGINE Free SDK will be updated regularly, to make sure our community has access to all the advances we make to CryENGINE 3”, said Carl Jones, Director of Global Business Development CryENGINE. “We got a lot of valuable feedback since the launch of our free version of CryENGINE 3, which we’ll take into account for future updates and are overwhelmed by the positive reactions, the creativity and the progress on projects some of the teams that chose to work with the free SDK made in this short amount of time.”

The introduction of the Projects Database to CryDev will give developers much more control over their work, their team, their files and enables them to create and manage content. With ongoing updates to the community portal and the free SDK Crytek is confident that the community will continue to flourish with amazing work.
