Last weekend saw Crytek setting up camp amid the scores of gamers who descended upon the Rome Exhibition Center for "Romics" – a long-running festival celebrating comics, animation and videogames.
As well as inviting attendees to go hands-on with the upcoming PC version of Ryse: Son of Rome, we were in town to give away 50 download codes for the game to lucky citizens of the Italian capital. To claim one of the codes, participants simply had to show us their passport and prove they were genuine sons or daughters of Rome – also earning them an exclusive Ryse comic, as well as a download code for the game's stirring soundtrack. The event was organized in conjunction with VIGAMUS, The Video Game Museum of Rome, whose Gamevillage also played host to our Ryse demo stations during Romics.
Eager entrants lined up for their chance to grab the bountiful giveaway bundle, with the chosen 50 invited on stage to receive their prize from an assembly of hosts in Roman garb. As the gathered audience cheered, and the victors had their arms raised in triumph, they no doubt enjoyed a foretaste of the glory that awaits them when Ryse: Son of Rome arrives to download on PC this Friday – October 10th!
