A team of Crytek representatives was showing the Crysis Multiplayer part to the public for the first time. The game mode that has been shown is called "PowerStruggle" where two teams fight against each other trying to capture several factories which are placed on the map. Once such a factory has been captured the team who owns it can build several vehicles such as air vehicles, naval vehicles and ground vehicles. The main goal of this game mode is to destroy the enemies' base.
The Games Convention 2006 in Leipzig was a great success for both EA and Crytek. Thousands of people played Crysis Multiplayer and the feedback was very positive. Having overall 14 machines set up in a LAN the fans were able to play 7vs7. We are really looking forward to future events to present even more Crysis material.
