Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of English
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to gather information quickly, and distil it into written form
- Ability to write clear, technical documentation that can be understood by an international audience whose first language may not be English
- Ability to write for specific audiences with different levels of technical understanding, e.g. programming team, art team, design team and general public
- Ability to work on own initiative
- 2 years of technical writing or related experience, e.g. programming or other writing role
- Passion for making games
Pluses:
- Degree in computing
- Familiarity with C++
- Games industry experience
- Experience of Twiki or other web based documentation system
- Experience of scripting languages, e.g. LUA
- Understanding of CryEngine1 level editor and technology
- Experience with working on CryEngine1 mods
Responsibilities:
- Write and update all internal documentation related to the engine
- Edit existing documentation and ensure it is of a uniformly high standard
- Technical documentation work for other departments, such as ensuring all documentation intended for external sources is up to professional standards in terms of English usage and presentation
- Work closely with internal game teams and our Research and Development department
- Directly responsible for adhering to all company policies and procedures
- Safeguard company assets including source code, art work, tools, game design information and technical know how
- Takes initiative and is willing to expand own horizon
- Additional tasks in the area of a Technical Writer
- Report to Executive Management
