QA Specialist / Senior

 

Requirements:

  • 2+ years experience in the quality assurance field.
  • Willingness to pursue quality assurance as a career path, with a desire to learn and grow professionally within the field.
  • Experience leading a team of testers.
  • Familiarity with development methodologies and testing procedures.
  • Familiarity with bug tracking tools and test management systems.
  • Understanding of different types of testing, including system, regression and acceptance.
  • Excellent knowledge of English, both written and spoken.
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality documents in English, including test strategies, test plans and test cases.
  • Established interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team oriented environment.
  • Willingness to relocate to Budapest, Hungary.
  • Assertiveness, initiative, and willingness to continually learn and improve relevant skills.
  • Ability to work well under press and under a strict timeline.
  • Willingness to accept and provide direction, work well under pressure, and handle multiple tasks.
  • Strong passion for making the highest quality state-of-the-art games.
  • Willingness to work overtime when required.

Pluses:

  • Prior experience in the gaming industry.
  • A degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience with console-specific certification requirements (e.g. TCR, TRC).

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and perform analysis and examination of entertainment media and associated material as assigned by the QA Manager.
  • Plan and perform testing on games, editors and other software to verify proper function, data content, performance, usability/playability and hardware/software compatibility.
  • Lead a team of testers when required to achieve the testing goals and assure quality.
  • Design and document test plans and test case specifications based on requirements.
  • Assure the traceability between requirements, test cases and other artefacts.
  • Make sure the created test plan is followed to release software on time and with known quality.
  • Use the test management system to build test cases, test sets, record test runs and results and generate reports.
  • Use the bug tracking tool to report bugs, and ensure that these reports are written clearly and accurately, detailing anomalies found and the steps that are required to reproduce them.
  • Verify fixes are implemented correctly throughout the product cycle.
  • Address 'Need More Info' bugs in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Map, define and assure the compliance of processes.
  • Provide and accept guidance and assistance where required.
  • Continue to enhance testing and communications skills.
  • Actively contribute to the project team by making recommendations on how to improve product quality as well as group productivity.
  • Communicate the quality level of the project to management and other involved parties and submit relevant reports.
  • Give advice regarding quality to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with other studio groups, including art and production, to achieve project objectives.
  • Complete all tasks in a timely manner and to a consistent high quality standard.
  • Remain focused, motivated and effective on all tasks through completion.
  • Directly responsible for adhering to all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by Leads or Manager with accountability and responsibility defined prior to the commencement of these duties.
  • Safeguard the company’s assets including source code, art work, tools, and technical know-how.
