Animation Programmer

 

Requirements:

 

  • At least 6 years of programming experience with emphasis on character animation.
  • Completion of at least 2 character based games.
  • Strong math background.
  • Excellent C/C++ programming skills.
  • Strong 3D maths and computer graphics skills.
  • Experience in IK/FK systems and Facial animation.
  • Familiarity with compression schemes for animation data.
  • Familiarity with large and dynamically extensible applications.
  • Ability to work within a schedule.
  • Ability to work well as part of a creative team.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Math or Computer Science, or Software Engineering.

 

Plusses:

 

  • Programming experience on consoles (including at least one of Sony PS2, Microsoft XBox or Nintendo Gamecube), or in film character animation.
  • Experience with script languages.
  • Familiarity with 3ds Max / Maya studios.
  • Passionate about making games.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Maintain and extend the development of our current character/creature animation system.
  • Work where necessary to interface with projects and project systems, including AI and character control.
  • Develop tools as necessary for use by project animation programmers and artists.
  • Work with others to create our next generation animation system that includes motion-capture, facial
  • animation, lip-synch, and procedural animation tools and technologies.
  • Write technical design and software design documentation.
